Variations in color, texture, thickness, rough edges, small chips, and surface irregularities are natural characteristics of genuine rock salt and are not considered defects. Engraving may initially contain white salt dust from the engraving process; this residue may naturally loosen over time, leaving the lettering cleaner and more defined.
